Last Things…

The exhibition, elliptical illusion, plays on the idea of elusive meaning. It sees context as critical in interpreting meaning(s) – be it words or images in association or independent of each other. The works have reference to socio-political contexts that may not always be readily interpreted due to the language used or to the perceived association of particular words to each other – or to a deliberate masking of meaning through esoteric or venacular use of language. Irony and humour are evident in the content, as are puns, disassociation and diverse symbolism. Similarly, poetry can often generate multiple illusions through the relationships between words.
